I watched a film the other night that I'd never heard of before, which was a really nice look at a lot of different sexualities - "Shortbus". There's a youtube trailer here. It's sensitive and intelligent and honest, and is worth watching. 2006, so recent too.
What were the Nintendo guys thinking when they gave to Mario this transformation?

Yeah...that one is annoying...

The still picture is a bit misleading as Mario basically "becomes" the spring and jumps around as the spring.  No mobility restriction or binding...of course, it takes some skill to master the technique to bounce around well enough to get your tasks done...so...I guess one could have some sort of fetishesque view on the actual gameplay...

Not to belabour the point. My intention was NOT to piss off everybody here, but point out that "mainstream classics" in this venue which were playing then in your neighbourhood theatres or could be rented or bought in your neigbourhood video stores are NOT there to be found. Not because they would not be popular, but because they would be controversial or even in some case subject to prosecution. Caligula ( uncut), Story of O ( the original), any Illsa movie or even such "lame" movies as some of the Gemser Emmanuelle's or Chained Heat movies.

Also, I define "mainstream" as a movie which is good enough to warrant national distribution ( even if only on DVD) not amateur and very campy clips on Youtube.

My main point is to identify the corporate censorship by outfits like Blockbuster, Wal Mart,PayPal and others and the zealots in some US Attorney's offcies having a "new hobby" of stomping on your 1st Ammendment rights.

My comments applied mostly to USA as the rest of the World has not quite yet caught up, well except UK, the most censored and scary country after any "Talibanland".

.... and if you do not see it, then go and try rent yourself one of my lists above and see how far you get Smile

Well, there might be some of this going on,

But I think of releases such as Secretary and a few others recently as not fitting in.

And I can offer that I have found chained heat, at our local Hastings.

I know that in some areas local law steps in to what is porn and against city ordnances and what is not. and so even block buster has to meet local standards.

I know this because I live in a very rural righteous part of this country.
And I have to drive at least 75 miles to a bigger town just to find a playboy or such for sale, and close to 150 to find a town with an adult book store.

Rent, maybe. But amazon.co.uk still seems to have all those for sale and in stock. (And Shortbus, too!)

My very point. So far YES on the Internet ( including Amazon) BUT mostly NOT in your regular "brick and mortar" stores as these are likely subject to much easier prosecution as the "goods" are right there for any zealot to seize.

Maybe. On the other hand it might just be more of a niche market, and hence less demand. There's a lot of films and other things that I've only found on the internet. High street shops are pretty rubbish for anything even slightly unusual.

Adult films are available in adult stores - including non-mainstream. There are at least two shops in the town I live in that deal in good quality porn of all shapes and sizes not to mention a "Private Shop" which is much more conservative.

But.......

these are not mainstream films so it do't really apply to this thread!

I did rent "The story of O" from a mainstream rental but not recently. As for Blockbuster - they are only interested in high volume stuff and are family orientated so what do you expect?

I would argue that there have been a lot of strong bondage scenes of a DiD type in recent releases.

Heather Matarazzo had a scene where she's hung upside down naked and gagged in Hostel 2. Plus, Bijou Phillips appeared in a boustier and a back ballgag in the same film. There's also a vampire flick called Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) with Lucy Liu hung upside down naked with her hands tied behind her back, and Cameron Richardson hung upside down naked, gagged, and with her hands tied behind her back. I've seen other instances of nude bondage that don't come to mind right away, and much more involving clothed bondage of a DiD nature. I get the impression that a lot of you are posting from the UK where they passed that idiot law recently, and I'm posting from the US, where they haven't gotten around to passing any such idiotic law, but are surely thinking about it.

As for Blockbuster, depends on how hard they are watching. I once rented all the Ginger movies at a Blockbuster. (The Ginger movies are a series of 70s detective films that featured lots of nude bondage of a sexual nature.) Blockbuster seems more concerned about sexual imagery than bondage imagery, overall. I did once rent a copy of Over the Wire (a Skinamax film that featured a nude bound and gagged consensual sex scene) in which the aforementioned scene had been edited out.
I can remember one from my early days....

Was a movie and a woman (poss blonde) was suspended by wrists over a meshed floor with either a red or green goo beneath.

I have Battlestar or Buck Rogers coming to mind but alas, cannot remember fully.<!-- Sunbelt Popup Killer - has been appended by SPF -->
Hey, was it this Movie?

If it is then the movie is called 'Battle Beyind The Stars' Starring Richard Thomas, George Peppard, Sybil Danning and Robert Vaughn. The starlet in the pic is Darlanne Fluegel.

The character got this awesome sumation from badmovies.org-
Nanelia - Considering that she grew up on a space station only inhabited by her father and dozens of androids it is unsurprising how quickly she falls for Chad. Very proficient at hanging from the ceiling, which is a little worrisome with her social background.

I haven't gone through all pages of this topic, but has anybody mentioned the new Rihana's video for "Disturbia"?
If you haven't watched it, I deffinately recommend it. You can find it on Youtube. The song is not that good, but it has a lot of bondage.

This is a scene froman old movie. One of those Made-for-tv 80's action throwbacks. Thefilm's called Snakeeater with Lorenzo Lamas and all. In this scene, thehero and his female companion have been captured after Lamas traveledupriver to rescue his sister from Deliverance-style rednecks that haveher captive as well.

Unique sleeping bag mummification / suspension scene.

This movie is not out yet BUT the trailer is hot and likely will fit here. "Whats says you?" The movie is aptly called "Bitch Slap"... Enjoy, I did Smile

Also somewhere earlier I saw a reference to "The Pet"... Have the movie it is soooo lame, it is laughable. Just one interesting scene at the beginning likely shot after the fact and if that movie made it here as "mainstream" so are any of these:

Always quite liked the movie Tomcats, entirely because of the fact the librarian who is shy and stuff in the real world turns out to be an awesome dominatrix in the bedroom.

I think it's the only reason I even watch that movie....

This below is is not exactly mainstream but I like when things like this pop up ramdomly in online comics:

I think my earliest bondage memory was in the film DragonSlayer. They had a woman with her arms shackled over her head about to be sacrificed to a dragon.
I used to feel strange watching this. Was that an early erotic memory that I didn't understand at the time...maybe!
