How-to: Self-Bondage with Electromagnetic Locks

Unread postby stereodani » Thu Apr 23, 2015 12:32 am

Using a Securitron VM1290 electromagnetic lock and an outlet timer.

The strike plate acts as a weight to pull the chains through the eyebolts, and holds them taut. The magnet is rated for 1200 lbs, which, with the properly installed 3/8" eyebolts, withstands even the most vigorous struggling.

The VM1290 comes with a separate wall mounting plate that receives the magnet via hex bolts. So when not in use, the magnet can be removed and only the painted plate remains. I hang jackets on the eyebolts :)
