RE: Dumb question du jour
I gotta ask because I've always wondered....Do latex clothes have a cotton lining of some sort? I've wondered about getting sweaty inside them. At work for example, we have to wear rubber gloves to keep food dye off our hands on a particular piece of equipment. Within just a few minutes, I have nice pools of sweat inside my gloves. Does that happen to the catsuits?

"Does that happen to the catsuits?"YES... but it's sooooooo worth the sensation I would say that latex can be considered a "high maintenance" fetish. Short periods of wearing in the "right" temperature can control it somewhat though.- d_g
RE: Dumb question du jour
"Right" Temperature does that mean like in a dungeon? Or.... your basement? At your feet

I know a way to check temperature, you look at the redness... maybe your someone needs to spank your ass to keep you on topic?! They'll know when, it's... just... RIGHT! - d_g

Warm to the touch and glowing just so...
I'm all for this sort of global warming

Hey, i'm not!
Why is it always the ass that gets it? Surely there are more interesting places!
And more interesting ways!
I still think that the best way to "demand" chastity is to have someone strapped to a bed, spreadeagle, that should prevent anything from touching anything.... And isn't that a much nicer way to check someone's "Temperature"???

RE: Dumb question du jour
Why do I think the thermometer is slightly larger, longer, thinker and more rubbery then normal? And probably inflates!
P.s. I think we are slightly jacking the post, so....
Yes, latex does make your skin sweat, but like D_G_ already said, it's lovely feeling
And it doesn't really matter where you wear it, head, gloves, suit or socks :)Sylli2011-10-31 17:19:10

RE: Dumb question du jour
As a newcomer to latex I found out the hard way that wearing anything cloth under latex is a bad idea. It gets soaked in sweat and chafes. When I'm wearing latex I often don't really notice how sweaty I'm getting. Until I take it off and find I'm soaking wet. If you're not in a warm place then you'll feel cold too. As another poster said, latex is high maintainance and it's a general PITA but it can feel wonderful. If possible I try to take off latex clothing in the shower. Not only is it nice and warm but it's easy to give it a good wash.
RE: Dumb question du jour
Has anyone ever studied the thermal properties of a latex garment? My limited experience suggests it is a good conductor of heat. Cold room and you cool down fast. Hot room and you warm up quickly.
Is it me or is this typical?

RE: Dumb question du jour
If I had to venture an opinion Jerry, I would say that you heat up due to it's(latex) lack of ability to "breath" and you cool down because it's not enough material to be very insulating.I'm not educated on the matter though, just my thoughts, - d_g
RE: Dumb question du jour
Latex is thin, so the garment transfers heat well. Latex, as a material, is an insulator, so it doesn't transfer heat well, but usually garments are thin enough, they can take on the surrounding temperature pretty well. d3vious is quite right when posting it doesn't breathe well. And, generally, when you're in latex, you're ... somehow exerting more energy *wink wink*. That's when the problem comes up. As your body starts to warm up due to your efforts, it sweats as a natural defense, but the sweat can't go anywhere if it's against a latex barrier. Doesn't make it any less fun though
Happily married to the object of my perverse affections. I like doing the tying, she likes being tied, it's a win/win!
RE: Dumb question du jour
I had a pair of stockings for years. I had an idea that I tried. I made a pad of duct tape and filled it with tacks. Then I used it to perforate the stocking with microsopic holes. Some actually closed back up. But the ones that didn't close would weep like pores in your skin. And no they did not tare at any of the holes.
