RE: Corruption in the IAR?
So do you work for Slickdot? You're providing them some great advertising In movies I've heard the statement that good writers / movie makers pay homage to great works, while great writers / movie makers simply steal.... So now that you have advertised for them, I take it that you want them to stop. Posting to forums that there is a company named Slickdot selling designer knock offs at a fraction of the price probably does a lot more to help them then to hurt them. IAR seems to have taken the same stance that most business have taken. Intellectual property is such a funny area, the courts seem to give it to much weight right now and the public little if any. Actually more to the point, the courts in the developed world, the courts in up and coming countries mostly see nothing wrong with it. Probably because any thing a company in their country does on the way up has very likely already been done some where else and restricting them from stealing intellectual property means they will never be able to catch up. Given that, the public's disinterest in intellectual property, IAS's interest in making enough to stay open and every ones interest in a low price, what is it you want or hope to get people to do in order to shut down Slickdot or to get them to stop stealing intellectual property?

Please check the "knock off" drama at the forum login. The "latex community" does not gather here en masse. What little latex/rubber discussion that does take place is quite enjoyable, and devoid of the drama that plagues the FetLife latex lover's group. - d_gd3vious_g3nius2011-07-27 16:11:18

Thanks for the tip about slickdot. Will definitely check them out.
Shouldn't this thread be moved to the useful links section?

I would rather this thread wasn't here as it can only lead to the negative threads that are seen elsewhere. This is a nice forum and a very enjoyable place as most seem to play nice most of the time.
