If you wear them all the time, body motion and buffing by the elements keeps even mild steel surprisingly clean.  Stainless steel is also a "ferro" alloy so that works, too.  Besides, rust has such a sinister, medieval look about it.  However, since we are a society of labels and since rust is oxidized steel, maybe those with a particular liking for rusty steel bondage should be called "oxi-ferro-sexuals."  Or maybe "oxide-attracted individual."
