Does anyone find fetlife a little intimidating?

I recently deleted a few friends, and I am sorry if I deleted any of you. I didn't intend on deleting any of you but I wasn't sure which of my friends were from here or not since some people have different screen names like I do.

I have to agree in thinking that intimidating is probably the better word to use in describing FetLife.
I find that you need a certain something, I do not know what, but of which I obviously lack. Seeing as I seem to be losing friends and not making them
But, don't get me wrong, I do not regret joining, I just feel I might be a bit out of depth.

I think Fetlife is geared for the truly social where forums like this cater to lurking. I don't mean that in a negative way at all. The this forum, most people feel free to post and don't feel they need to know the thread participants before joining in. There is no peer judgement here. With Fetlife I think there is to a degree. I know I've thought better of posting ideas and comment in fear of being called an idiot.

Fetlife allows users to search by geographical area, which follows FetLife's stated goal of being a "networking site." (Other sites that allow searching by criteria such as gender tend to be dating sites.)

Meanwhile, louderave.com appears to be a brand new website -- with a grand total of six members -- that was created on Dec. 6, 2012.

I like FetLife because you can tell pretty much who and what people are and likely interests without contacting them. You can then decide who you'd like to chat to or get to know better. Unfortunately, although I'll stay loyal, this site lost a lot of that when it changed earlier this year.

I created an account there, just out of curiosity - and wow, that place is a ghost town! Either the search function is broken beyond repair, or I was the only user in Nevada... Nice design, though.

Ok so I'm brand new to fetlife and sorta like it but are all the men on the site so forward and semi creepy lol? I dunno, maybe I just need to get more comfortable with it?

Also, I've been thinking of becoming a full member but I'm not entirely sure if I want to and not sure how to do it either lol.

It seems like most of the men on the INTERNET are forward and at least semi-creepy.

I'd at least explore it and get more comfortable before becoming a "full member" there. (If by "full member" you mean a "paying supporting member" they apparently had some trouble with their credit card processing company at the beginning of the year because their site promotes "smut." :eyeroll: https://fetlife.com/groups/311/group_posts/3492380 From another thread there, apparently the only current way to send them money is via "snail mail" and a check or money order.)

i check my fetlife profile and the very first activity was done 9 months ago. i also been checking other members near me and found there seem to me more guys on there then female as i seen not much of activity in some of the groups i watch even one of the closed down without letting me know
