Re: Unusual Handcuffs
If the sharp edges bother you, take a file to them. I figure that if I do that it takes the plating off them, making them vulnerable to rust, and they'll still have narrow edges, so I'd still want some kind of protection if used for any length of time. I'm not really a collector of these; I grab th...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
I should post a photograph of the S&W 104 key beside a regular standard handcuff key. That would be interesting. There is not room to fit a sewing needle much less a paper clip. shrug ... I guess I'll always think of them as being a fairly simple modification of the same boring mechanism as mos...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
I believe that fitting even a sewing needle between the center post and the edge of the keyhole would be difficult with a S&W Model 104 handcuff because the key and keyhole are so narrow. I am not quite sure what is the working part of the bit. You seem to be quite analytical, but I don't know ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
The older S&W Model 90 handcuffs were much better made than the current production Model 100. Note I don't have any actual S&W cuffs; I'm using "S&W style" to mean a pair of flat-steel swing-through cuffs, with a slotted double-lock. (I believe the flat steel swing-through sty...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
As for "Hot y work", most of the older Tower cuffs had chains that were forge welded as did the Hiatt Darby cuffs. The modern Indian copies of Darby cuffs are generally just brazed. Yep, I suspect the S&W style swing through cuffs became so ubiquitous simply because they are cheap to ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
Do your Chinese H&R handcuffs have a raised ridge on each side of the double arms that the single jaw swings through? If they do, then they are the newer type. If they do not, then they are the older ones. Considering that you commented that they are on the small side, I suspect they are the ol...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
I just got a pair of H&R style cuffs - they were cheap and on special at an NZ-based kink/sex toy retailer (well under half the price I'd need to pay at any overseas source I could find), so I grabbed them. I guess they're the "newer" type. I'm not sure if these are "real" Ch...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
Do you have the older version or the newer version of the Chinese H&R? I don't have the H&R ones. I have three Chinese-made pairs: an old pair of Fury chain style cuffs - these are OK, but the swing through arms are quite thin compared to the others. The other two are a Chinese knock-off of...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
These Chinese copies of H&R handcuffs are of typical Chinese manufacture. There are many places with sharp edges and places where some of the "flash" from metal stampings still remains. The manufacturers don't bother cleaning up the stampings, They just chrome plate everything. As wit...

Re: Always cuffed when home
Heh. If you have checked bags, you can put pretty much anything in there as long as it doesn't look too much like a bomb. But carry-on ... yeah, not so much. Bloody Australia has a system where you can claim back any GST (sales tax) you paid on stuff you bought while in the country that you are expo...

Re: Always cuffed when home
How do you change your pants is a good question. Fortunately my handcuffs are not permanent... For underpants: put your left foot through left leg hole, pull pants up through left leg cuff, then pull the right end of pants down through the right cuff, loop the waistband under your foot and pull it ...

Re: Cage experience
From my personal experience, the cage experience depends on the size of the cage. If the cage is so small that you can't change positions in it, it will be very painful. The floor of the cage is just as important, a mesh one is much more painful. Yep. My cage (a large dog cage) is about 1.2m long, ...

Re: Glueing lips
The problem with using acetone on lips is that the nose is right above the lips and unless your patient isn't breathing, s/he is going to inhale vapors. Again, read the MSDS. Breathing acetone vapors is really not good. It will probably be difficult to avoid getting vapors into the eyes as well. Th...

Re: Glueing lips
Suggest anyone in this discussion who is not concerned about ingesting acetone should read material safety data sheet. Not everyone reacts the same way. Problem is also inhaling vapor and getting vapor in eyes. It's an irritant, sure. But I still take issue with the "really nasty" bit. Be...

Re: Road Trip with Friends / Car Seat
... and now I'm googling adult car seats ... As a teenager, and a lot skinnier ... my niece had outgrown her toddler sized car seat. I found that my backside went into it snugly, and if loosened, I could actually do up the straps. The shoulder straps of course were far too short to go where they sho...

Re: Feeling like I’ll never have a domme or even a vanilla girlfriend
Also to address a point in your original post: if you date a vanilla, the chances they're into what you want to do are not great. Dating a vanilla with the intent of "converting" them to kink without being up front about your proclivities is dishonest. Don't do it; it's unlikely to end well.

Re: Feeling like I’ll never have a domme or even a vanilla girlfriend
[quote=DarkEmperor555 post_id=921356 time=1716096896 user_id=83807 I've tried going to local kink events, but most people at them are 40+ year old men. What can I do about that, if anything? Re: Glueing lips
Acetone is an organic solvent which means it does a really good job dissolving carbon based compounds which is what we all are made of, so it does really nasty things if ingested. Maybe your idea of "really nasty" is different to mine - there are lots of things out there that do "rea...

Re: Glueing lips
Let's start by saying that gluing lips is a Bad Idea. But since we all love Bad Ideas ... I've always found that the "permanence" of cyanoacrylate (CA glue, superglue, Krazy glue et al) is grossly overrated. Skin is very flexible, the hardened CA is very brittle, and the bond is thin. That...
