Quick question about Vivishine

Unread post by pax »

Sorry, I searched but can't find the answer to this anywhere.

I bought a custom made neck entry catsuit and chlorinated it myself. Super easy, I'm good/careful around chemicals as I've worked with them in the past with my job. Chlorinated latex is amazing, I don't have to do any powder or lube at all, it just slides on. I can't believe how much people charge for this option. It cost me ~$30 and I probably have enough chemicals to chlorinate 100+ items.

The process dulls the rubber however, so I'd like to make it shiny and everyone seems to rave about Vivishine.
My question is this, does Vivishine make the latex sticky again if used on chlorinated items?

The reason I ask is if I put the whole catsuit in a bowl as Vivishine recommends, the inside will get shiny, but possibly lose the benefit of chlorination and I don't want it to lose the ease of entry that it has now.

Anyone care to help out?

Thanks!

I don't think the vivashine sticks as well to chlorinated rubber. I used it on a pair of briefs and they went back to dull on their own eventually. I have a new pair of chlorinated stockings, they're so supple and slippery on their own, not sure i want to mess with that.

I'm not surprised that it might not work as well on chlorinated, they mention that it might not get as shiny, I guess that's the trade off.
I'm still curious if it goes back to kinda sticky when you use Vivishine though...

From what I've read elsewhere (on Fetlife) Vivishine and chlorination aren't a good mix. You lose the benefits of chlorination unless you can somehow only vivishine the outside only. If you want a really shiny appearance you're probably better off just polishing the outside with some kind of silicone product. Personally I'm not too bothered about shiny so I just enjoy the feel of chlorianted latex.

Not sure how you managed to spend $30 on chemicals. 5 litres of HCl, as sold by builders merchants for getting cement marks off etc is under £10 in the UK. So perhaps $12 in the US. It's about 16% strength. Bleach is dirt cheap and best bought when you need it as it loses strength with age. Even after a few months it's lost a quite a bit of strength. I already had buckets and gloves.

I had to buy a new mask and filters, but yeah, normally you can get off cheaper. Filters seem to be the biggest expense.
Thanks for the input! This is what I was looking for.
I'll just stick with shining the outside. I bought some thin silicone oil, so I'll try that.
