I wanted to update everyone on the outage for the past week or so. Unfortunately, spammers and bots are only getting worse and starting to take up a significant amount of server resources. The forum was taken offline to give me time to evaluate options.
In that time, a number of you reached out with suggestions, which I appreciate. The forum has also been updated to the latest version which includes some additional spambot tools. Hopefully, a combination of these two will keep server utilization at a normal level.

The forum shares a server with other sites I run. When the bots start hitting this board it does two things. Increases the CPU usage which does cost me more. To limit what I do get charged, I limit how much CPU can be used. This then slows down or disables my other sites. While I don't like paying more, it's more that I can't impact my other sites. If I have to, I'll move the forum to another server, but would rathe not have to.Are the server ressources a problem moneywise or simply the spammers bringing down the board?
