Long Chain Handcuffs

I have several pairs of handcuffs by my computer and have found that although I put them on occasionally, I can never keep them on for more than a few minutes because they interfere so much with getting anything done. I also have a few pairs of handcuffs / shackles with longer chains but none of them seem to be quite the right size to be a nice reminder and yet not too long or too short to be annoying. What is the perfect length for something that can be worn indefinitely without interfering much with most activities?

For leg irons, it seems that the typical chain length of 14-15 inches seems about right to be a good reminder but still allow enough mobility to climb stairs and not hurt. A little longer also works there.

I'm kept in cuffs almost all the time I'm home. It consists of leather wrist cuffs locked with 8 inches and ankle cuffs locked with 18 inches (I'm tall and have a bigger stride)

Lately I'm also made to wear a 4 ft chain that connects my wrist chain to my ankle chain. That makes things interesting as it keeps my hands down when standing, but to reach higher I stand on one leg and use one hand to get things out of the fridge top shelves.

That sounds interesting, not sure if I could manage like that. We've discussed that kind of thing but I'm to used to my full autonomy, maybe could try it at first with some longer chains and shorten them over time if it's comfortable enough.

To stay in my relationship I don't have much of a choice other than to wear them all the time. I'm told it helps my owner secure me easier at anytime (I'm usually locked to something at all times too) and hopefully reminds me that I am owned and to be obedient.

What is interesting though is that when I leave home and they are removed I find myself subconsciously taking smaller stride steps for a while after. It actually feels strange to have the freedom of stride and use of my arms to full capacity.

If the chain between handcuffs gets to be around 15 inches or so, it doesn't really prevent much of anything but the fact that you as the prisoner do not have the key and can't remove them is a nice reminder of your status.
This length of chain is a bit too long if you are playing with your partner and she wants you helpless though.
I have had custom shackles made that have a chain of about 15 inches between the ankle cuffs and about 11 inches between the wrist cuffs. As usual, there were other unforeseen issues that made them a bit uncomfortable though.
The point of being locked in these kinds of restraints is that you have to learn to deal with them. That may take a little while which is why getting locked into an uncomfortable position isn't such a good idea.

Things become much more fun when a nice attentive lady is holding the keys and refuses to let you remove any of the toys.

This morning I found that I already have a couple sets of long chain handcuffs.
One is Peerless and one is S&W. Nominally, both have a six inch chain according to the description in an online catalog I found but while the Peerless set actually has a chain that is pretty close to six inches, the S&W set has a chain that is over two inches longer. The S&W set doesn't have rivets in the body as the new ones do, so it is older manufacture. I just can't remember having used them in games previously.
There is another set that has a ridiculously long 30 something inch chain that I can't think of any practical use for other than attaching a prisoner to some object.
Sounds like a good occasion to put these toys to use.

I always use chains and padlocks and when working on my laptop I would sometime lock myself firmly into my crotch harness which has a ring on the front where the waist belt and crotch belt cross. I’d then get a chain and lock it round one wrist then pass the chain through the ring and then lock the other end round my other wrist. There would be just over a foot of chain between my wrists which allowed me to type, if I needed to use the mouse I’d have to slide the chain through so my left hand was by waist so I could reach it with my right hand.
I would sometimes also lock a gag round my neck and/or a neck collar and another chain acting as a hobble round my ankles with about six inches between them. The keys would have previously been left somewhere around the house or even down the garden (if it was cold or raining outside it would certainly add to the experience). When I felt ready I’d have to hobble to get them.
This was always great fun to be recommended to all.

I often use handcuffs and anklets with long chains (they allow me to move because I use them every day when I'm at home). My wife has never tried hiding the key outside the house..it could be a good thing to try (but only at night, being in a particularly busy area)

Currently locked in long chain handcuffs and a matching set of leg irons applied by my Beautiful Jailer.

One challenge that wasnt pointed out is that sometimes long chains on shackles will get tripped on. Over the past years I have taken some pretty good falls tripping on the connecting chain. Definitely have an "idler" chain going to wrists or waist.

You must have some extra long handcuff chains to be able to trip over them.
Even the longest chain handcuffs I own (about 3 Feet) don't come anywhere close enough to the floor to trip over.

There are lots of solutions to that.
If you are worried about tripping, loop the leg irons around a pillar in your house or put handcuffs and leg irons both through a 2.5 inch steel ring. They make a chain specifically for this purpose with about a 2.25 inch heavy ring on each end. We have one but don't use it much.
