Re: Unusual Handcuffs
My Jailer saw me looking over the C&K handcuffs and decided I should be wearing them. She put them on me and sat in front of me and we just talked for about an hour. She had the keys to the handcuffs but any standard handcuff key would have worked to open them and I think She was just making sure I was not escaping.

Seems like every time we use the Crockett & Kelly handcuffs a couple specks of rust come off as grit.

Re: Unusual Handcuffs
A couple days ago, I straightened the jaws of the cuffs slightly so that the swinging arm would align better with the opening in the cuffs' body. As they came, they were striking way off center. The metal seems to be fairly tough. They were padded pretty well when I twisted the pieces into place. I can correct the alignment quite a bit more but not without hammering on the rivets or squeezing the rivets in a vise which will cause some obvious deformity even though the function would be better.
So far, I am not doing anything that will intentionally affect the appearance or finish.
I know I did not damage the finish when adjusting the alignment but what is interesting is that the blued finish is not really holding up very well in general handling.
